Clear Your Background

Nothing makes it harder to see an item than a cluttered background. Clear it out, clean it up, create a showcase. Separate your sale item from the rest of your stuff with a backdrop of some kind.

No need to invest in anything fancy. Bed sheets and tablecloths make great makeshift backdrops, provided they’ve been ironed first. Alternatively, place smaller items on a solid-color table.

Take care with the lighting. Direct flash will overwhelm your item with harsh light and dark shadows. Using the Lightscoop® to bounce your pop-up flash off the ceiling or wall will create soft, even light that will transform your auction items into art objects.
